Whims and Wishes
Life under the servitude of whims and wishes is no life at all. Animals live in a fashion self-same as such, but they are just animals. What’s the difference? It is that they have not that refined power of discrimination, and thus, they, more or less, gratify all their whims without reflection. For instance, rabbits held captive in a cage; if you observe, you will deduce that they are very much under the thraldom of their whims. For a jiffy, they would be seen eating the cabbages, and the very next moment, running in a circle inside the cage and more than often engaging in mating with powerful libido. If you keep looking, they could inspire the discharge of your seminal fluid. Beware!
We live like the rabbits in consideration. Don’t we? A desires crosses the mind, let’s do it, we say. Aren’t we equalling the rabbits in this regard? They also do the same. A few words charged with aspersion make us furious. No matter if they are true or not, we are markedly affected by it. In the same strain, words of praise lift us on cloud nine. That’s involuntary, and that’s the shortcoming. If somehow, the attention could be so pinned to something that no words of praise or criticisms smite us, then only we could be out of the woods. Wouldn’t that ability be beautiful? A man standing criticising you, and you are looking him the eye but your ears aren’t attached to their respective brain centres and thus, you appear like you are hearing him with rapt attention, but in actuality, you aren’t. Your attention is pinned to something else. That’s your defensive wall. No matter what happens, it’s your inabilty to hitch your attention to something else rather than the object causing woe which causes grief. As an example, when a coupel walks hand-in-hand and they see beggers begging for something, but they pass by unnoticing them and this heats the beggers and they say shits but since they are lost in their delightful reveire, they don’t hear it and pass by nonplussed. Such attention we should strive to acquire in all walks of our life and then, we could be immune to injections of hurt and distress.
